Framing is done to give support to a structure, usually used in construction. The most common materials used for framing are wood and steel. There are two types of framing:
  • Light Frame Construction: These frames are, usually, made up of wood and are heavier to support the structure.
  • Heavy Frame Construction: These types of frames are, usually, made of light steel or sometimes balloons to create the desired structure.
There are two methods which are used to make framing, first one is the platform construction and the second one is the balloon framing.
In construction framing, wood is used most popularly because of the advantages which the wood gives to you over the other materials.
